16v 4age inlet manifolds with no temp sensor?

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Mon Apr 30, 2007 9:44 pm

which 16v 4age inlet manifolds don't have the air temp sensor? (the round yellow sensor)

theres one on my ae86 manifold but ive got two other fwd manifolds here which i was going to cut/shut and neither have the temp sensor. are these off redtops or something?? both have the tvis badge on top of the manifold so must be off bigports...

im pretty sure these are needed for a link/4agte setup right, or is it only the standard 4age ecus which need this sensor?

cheers.

Blue Tops have it in the manifold, all the others have the temp sensor in the pipe between the filter and the throtal body.

the temp sensor in a BLACKTOP is fitted in the factory air box. But lies between the filter and the T.B

I think it is like that in all the MAP 4A engines. I could be wrong though. :)

nope...my map bigport had it in the piping, not the manifold as well...

I have the sensor plus pipe if you are after one...

If your using a link and have a turbo setup I'm pretty sure that in the manual it states to put the air temp sensor between the air filter and the turbo rather than post turbo as most sensors don't react quickly enough to the temperature changes when cars come on boost etc.

Yip, a N/A sensor, and the turbo one, turbo one reacts much quicker, but costs more.

A map sensored 4ag(z)e should have the temp sensor in the air flow meter.

i put my (turbo) one in the intake manifold, this is a bluetop inlet mani, i just re-tapped the hole (where a temp sensor used to be) above the link temp sensor to suit a barb fitting i had for my wastegate.
