****4agte td05 waterlines?****

i have just brought a td05h evo turbo for my big port 4agze and am just wondering bout the waterlines

im not shore if i should use them to cool the turbo becuase i have been told by other people that the water just gets warm and well warm water ant goin to cool the turbo

is this correct or they just dont no what they talking about haha would rather ask you guys ...at least i no use are on to it

Use the water lines. The water cools the turbine core which can get red hot if you thrash it enough, water at engine temperature will certainly help! The water cooling in the turbo is designed to keep it reliable by cooling the oil basically.

your right the water going into the turbo wil be warm, about 80 to 90 or 100 degree's,

but the turbo core maybe 300 or more, so will still help.

IMO, if there's provision for water cooling on a turbo, use it.

You can usually run a watercooled turbo with no water without any problems at all, just have to make sure you're always using good oil. It is going to be FWD? If so, there's plenty of air circulating round there to help keep things cool also. Water lines are just a pain in the ass

Correct me if im wrong, but I thought the oil is the main coolant / lubricant during operation, but when the vehicle is switched off the water lines cool the turbo core through convection in the water, and stop the oil litterally baking to the sides of the turbo (something that can happen when no turbo timer or not cool down period is given)
