Shortening AE86 lateral link...

Postby jondee86 » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:22 pm

If an AE86 is 50 (+/-) down from stock, does anyone know how much
you have to shorten the lateral link to get the back axle centred ??

I'm planning to use a press to put a kink in the bar near one end to
shorten it up. Knowing how much shorter it needs to be will save me a
heap of trial fitting and measuring :)

No need to be half assed bout it- either buy an adjustable one or have someone modify your existing one to make it adjustable- youre in wellington i see so hit up grotty(hayden ) at import enhancements

If you bend it... it WILL break! Bags not to be you when it does break 1/2 way around that really cool corner where you can hold heaps of speed if you've done it a few times...

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

thats made differently then the stock one. its been heat treated to stay. and is much thicker then stock.

you could get your one heated and cooled by a spring shop to make it keep.
