AE86 LSD Question..

Is it true that in order to fit an lsd head to non lsd axles that you have to shorten the axles to make it all fit??
Diff in question is a Kouki AE86 (facelift).

Depends on the brand of the LSD, The TRD model is fine with non LSD axles, however on some other aftermarket brands of LSD shortening is required

What ive since found out is that any aftermarket lsd will fit and that it is only the factory lsd that you need to shorten your axles for.

I now have a new 2way cusco lsd on the way from Switzerland. Crazy that its cheaper to get one from there than it is from here.
I guess Mazsport aren't as interested in Toyotas as Mazdas. Which makes sense only they are a Cusco dealer so........................wtf?

out of interest, what did you pay for the cusco unit?

i understand they have a machined housing and as a result are bigger than the TRD item?

Cusco have more plates than trd's also. Somewhere around a grand.

Some would say that KAAZ and Cusco are superior to TRD, no hard evidence just peoples opinion I guess
