Where to run cable when relocating battery

Postby ChaosAD » Sat Jul 14, 2007 7:36 pm

Ok ive searched several forums and theres not too much on it.
Some people run it under the car and secure it every 300mm.

I dont like the idea of doing this on a lowered car so would prefer to run it in the car.

Is this ok? or will I have to pull the carpet up every time I get a wof?
and does it still need to be secured every 300mm? to what?

I havent checked with the insurance company yet, but is this a very substantial mod in their eyes? or is it just another mod like an exhaust or intercooler?

i ran mine down the same channel as all the other wires in the car, same place i would normally run cable for an amp or something, down by the door sill. this way there are grommets close by where you need them and you dont need to add anything to secure it cos there are already plastic things there.

I doubt they'd care, unless it was the direct cause of a claim (say if your car caught on fire etc) but if you're worried about it, the best way to find out is to ask them.

Yeah run it under the carpet. Just be aware of where you run it as mine you could still see under the carpet and just looked a bit unsightly.

Also If you have RCA cables for and amp or something run it on the other side of your car as that. (also try avoid your antenna cable as well)

might be a good idea to get a circuit break and put it close to the battery as well.
