ST185 Radiator fan staying on all the time

Postby ALLTREC_TURB » Thu Jul 19, 2007 4:50 pm

My car is finally running now but the radiator fan is running all the time, have tried two different thermostats on it with no change, the air-con has been removed too if that might make a difference, anyone have any ideas what it could be or even better how to fix it,

cheers

WTF? I read tht and found no answers?

The second last post is still asking.

The answer is you have removed the AC pressure switch which makes the fan run all the time. There would have been a 4 terminal plug on one of the ac pipes heading into the firewall. you need to bridge the two that control the fan. Last one I did was quite a while ago so dont remember the colours.
But bridging two together will stop if.

At a guess they are both blue and something.

Once you have done it run it up to temp and make sure the fan still comes on when needed.

If the sensors are permanently attached to the piping then just rip them off, come to think of it if you just bridged the wires from the plugs that go back to the loom that should work too.
Let me know how you get on.
