Dont know my car's colour

Postby Neptune » Mon Jul 23, 2007 4:35 am

I own a 1994 3S-GE Manual Silver Curren...
I debadged it last night with aspirations to get touch up paint from Repco. However, both the Toyota Silver paints didn't seem to match. :?

Where should I go for this sort of thing? I've been told to go to a paint shop (e.g. Resene) to get the paint I want... O.o I have my doubts about that idea. :|

So yeah... I'm kind of unsure about what to do.

Cheers

P.S: How much is a paint job these days, roughly? (prices for same colour job and new colour job would be appreciated :))

yep get the code off the firewall and take the flap into resene or a similar outfit.

there is a touch up paint by toyota that will do it, the silver from the ae101.
however thats ina nail polish type container, resene etc will be able to do it in a spray can if you want

dont just get the code of the firewall

take something in that they can match it with (eg petrol flap)

being over 10 years old the paint will have changed colour to the original code

if you know some one in auckland LJ smits is the place to go

Resene house paints and Resene car paints are different companies.

Thanks heaps, everyone.
Yeah, I went to Toyota, and I got the type of touch up paint mentioned above :|
I'll be taking my petrol cap into resene today/tomorrow and getting a spray.
At present, I've debadged my car and re-defined 'rangi'
