horn fuse keeps blowing

I think you will find the hazard lights are also on that fuse, have a look around that area, no new alarm installs etc?? Need a bit more info that "it keeps blowing".

When does it blow?

as soon as you replace it, when you turn on the ign, or when you press the horn button?

Sorry it's on my AE101 Trueno.

It happens everytime I go to sound the horn and the fuse blows up. I installed a new steering wheel in few weeks ago and worked fine but then it stopped all of a sudden. So i replaced the fuse and it blew up again and then put my old stock wheel on and it still blows the fuse when I sound the horn.

Any ideas?

They mean the actual horn not the button on the wheel.

It's a black circle looking thing by your radiator.

the stering wheel is just a 'button' try replacing the horn its self, or maby put a bigger fuse in?

No, thats a bad idea unless you like flames. Factory rated fuse will be fine.

cheers for your help so far guys but can confirm the horn is fine. we just went out and tested it against battery and it works.

it's shorting out somewhere but no idea where.

im stumped

any more ideas? lol

well seeing as the only thing you have changed is the steering wheel, logic dictates to start looking there, take the wheel off and check for loose wires etc

There is nothing you can do at the steering wheel to blow the horn fuse.

There is only one wire for the horn circuit and the steering wheel, and if you shoet it to earth all it does is jam the horn on,
it cannot blow the fuse.

Do you realise that 99.9% of cars have two horns, one on each side.

Remove them both and leave them unplugged and try again and see if it blows with no horns.

Youve got a short in your wiring some where If will probably be in the steering wheel power wire. Need to check with test light / multi meter to trace. probably job for auto sparkie if you don't have technical electrical experience

There is no power from the horn circuit to the steering wheel.
And there is not meant to be.
and if there is no power there you cannot short it out.

The fault cannot be in the steering wheel.
