am i correct in thinking screw type fittings and braided line on the oil feed and rubber pushlock fittings on the return are the most commonly used turbo lubrication systems?

Pretty much. Can use pushlock stuff on the feed if you want

what do most turbos come with? a screw fitting or just a pipe?

re your pm most factory turbo oil systems are bundy tube and bangos. If you go to GSS you can get bangos/screw fittings coupled onto stainless brainded hose (can do it yourself as well). This should sort oil feed.

On teh return I would use hose/hose clamp between pipe and turbo and a fitting to the sump. You will need to go to GSS or similar to discuss options. Either way its not cheap so take lots of money or get trade discounts
