Spongy Clutch pedal

Postby TRD_ZERO » Sat Aug 04, 2007 8:08 pm

As the title says my clutch pedal all of a sudden got spongy. For example if i rest my foot against it it just goes all soft and all the way to the floor, but if i do fast rapid movements with the pedal i can then feel resistance. Is giving me trouble as i cant get my car into gear or out of gear sometimes.
ITs a ae111 by the way i tried bleading the clutch but no air came out. My second guess would be the seals on the inside of the clutch cylinder. Anyone had this kind of problem before??

Master cylinder seals. Replace either master cylinder, or get a seal kit and rebuild it.

Just replace the cylinder. If the seals are going then the cylinder may not be far off. And it would be b*stard to fix the seals only for the cylinder to shit itself a month after the fact.

As for the parts ask this fella: viewtopic.php?t=44317

BNT should have/be able to get the kit. Of try tradeparts for a replacement master/slave cylinder - they always seem to have the best price for that sort of thing when Im purchasing.
