GTT fuel

Postby magnazan » Tue Aug 21, 2007 5:33 pm

Currently running my GTT on BP Ultimate. TBH i didn't buy the car to worry about the cost of fuel and will likely stick with Ultimate but just wondering if there would be a noticable difference in running 95/6?

The reason i ask is that New World is crap and thats pretty much the only place close to get the fuel vouchers for BP from. However if running 95/6 from Shell ain't gonna be an issue then i'd be able to shop elsewhere.

I know ppl say run 98 cos it's high compression but 9:1 doesn't seem that high...

Comments?

9:1 is not really high if it was non turbo. But being turbo it makes it high for that application, as the resulting compression would be much higher than say 10:1 car.

So is running anything lower than 98 going to cause issues? Surely can't be much difference between 98 and 96

That is the building. Progressive doesnt want foodstuffs to open up there.

Enough off topic anyway, as for running it on 98, its been done before without problems (i know Santa can't get 98 in taranaki) but if you can afford it i would still run on 98.

There won't be much, if any, difference unless you tune for higher octane fuel ;)

My RunX(2zzge) runs fine on 98 and 96/5, but I get about 10% more milage by using 98.

91 - 360km
96/5 - 440km
98 - 490km

All from a 45L tank.

The Gtt will be different, but I'd imagine there will be a similar difference in fuel consumption.

Mine pinks real bad on 95, and pinks just a little on 98.

Use 98.
