MkIII supra auto to manual conversion???

Postby stalker » Sat Aug 25, 2007 12:53 pm

Im looking at wanting to get a MkIII, and the only one i can find that i like sadly is an auto :(
Now i know enough about cars to survive...but doing something like a conversion from a slush bucket (auto) to a manual gearbox is def out of my leauge.

Does anyone know of somewhere good to take the car too to get it done proff???
And anyone know roughly how much it would cost to do???

Depends how much you can source the parts for, the box alone could cost you 200, or 800 and thats not counting the other bits, my suggestion is: Go to a decent transmission shop, ask them how much for just the labour, then source the parts.

did my m8's 1ggte mk3 a year ago, took me whole afternoon.well, most of the time we just fck around. lots of bolts.he spent aprox $600 for the whole conversion kit(w58 with all manual bits) not include the new rps clutch kit, bearings and slave.
NB: good tools save lots of time.

i can vouch that the parts are getting very hard to find :( 99% of the screwing round that i had to do with the conversion (that i just finished btw, w00t!) was because of getting the wrong parts, and having to find the proper stuff.
