Clutch slave cylinder

Postby TRD_ZERO » Sat Sep 08, 2007 11:40 am

I know this might be a stupid question but im a little stumped. Im wanting to know where the slave cylinder is on my car for my clutch is it on the gearbox or the firewall. From what ive read it is on the gearbox. I bought a seal kit for it but i dont even know where it is. All help appreciated.

I went and explained my problems to BNT and they suggested i replace the slave cylinder. SO i did but still the same problems. Really spongy clutch and sometimes when i have it fully depressed it just starts to grab even when my foot is flat to the floor. So as most of you had suggested its the master cylinder seals letting go  , so i gotta go get a seal kit for that or a whole cylinder if i cant find a kit.

It's easy to diagnose clutch problems, in this case, if your leaking fluid it's your slave or your hydrolic line going to it. If it's not leaking then it's your master, as it's just leaking back past the seals.

I thought it might have been the slave as when i pressed the little rubber cover that sits outside the slave cylinder clutch fluid came out. So it must have been leaking past that piston too. Well nothing is open today that can supply me with a kit or whole cylinder so i gotta wait until next weekend. Damn its crap driving with a rooted clutch.
