limp stalk ....

Postby GTCRSHR » Mon Sep 24, 2007 9:29 am

hey guys,

after removing my dashboard on the weekend, i came to put my window wiper stalk back in and it wont stay at its correct position, i cant actually see how it cant work but it doesnt,

is there something special about putting it back in ? or is there something that is suppose to hold it up in the correct position,

it moves free, just doesnt stay in the right place,

any ideas?

make sure its slotted into the right place?
not upside down?

im not sure i follow your explanation
so instead of the stalk having resistance when u say work the indicators, it just flops around

bingo,

it slides up and down ok, but it is suppose to stay in the UP position = off now if i slide it up it just falls back down no resistance at all but it still makes contact with the contacts  inside

all round the right way etc,

ball bearing ? i wonder if that has flirted off somewhere ?

basically it slides in and there is a hole at the top (closest to stearing wheel) and then the backplate goes in to a grove and a hole which keeps the stalk straight
