Removing Stickers

Postby 20vDan » Wed Oct 31, 2007 5:45 pm

Hey there back stickers on my trueno looking a bit rough so i would like to remove them.

I tried doing it with a hairdryer and a razor blade with my dickhead mate but didn't really work that well ended up scratching it quite heavily haha.

So i was wondering what the best way to remove these is if anyone has any secrets!

had to take the stickers off the work van recently was a major pina.
I ended up using the razor blade to get the hardest ones off I found that the best blades were stanley knife ones where there is bevel on both sides of blade, just lay it flat and slice the decal off leaving most of the glue stuff.
Alternatively you could try Ammonia which will soften the glue but not the
Vynil allowing you to peel them off, buy at the supermarket (cleaning)

I used one of those paint scraper things, like you use when you paint the wood around windows & get some on the glass, its got a beveled blade & is great for this sort of thing, just have some patience when you do it, if you rush you will scratch, & use some scratch remover or cutting paste to tidy up afterwards
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

I just used a heat gun and peeled the stickers off.

Then used prepsol to take off the gooy stuff then gave it a good once over with a cut-polish like scratch-X.

Worked a charm

heat gun and a CD... the CDs are usually soft enough not to scrape the paint.

I took the glanza stickers of the side of my car using a hair dryer and some canuba wax. Heat up the sticker and peel them off while using the hair dryer, then get the rest of the sticky stuff off using a rag and canuba wax. Worked a treat and doesnt damage the paint work.
