ae101 will be smallport, ae92 will be bigport. Ae101 should def have coilpacks instead of a dizzy also, though i think some ae92's do too. I think the ae101 s/c pulley is slightly bigger, sorry not sure what the measurements are tho

Main difference will be that all ae92 4agze's have AFM's, except very late ones (which are basically what came in the ae101).

ive noticed that ae101's have a grey handled dipstick and ae92's have yellow, if it has a dizzy its from an aw11 mr2. if it dosnt use a dizzy and has an afm its an ae92, if its map sensored its an ae101 or a late model ae92 as mentioned above

http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech ... _specs.htm

that might help - it tells you what models are afm or map, dizzy or cas etc etc etc...

Not quite right,

and Club 4ag info is not usually 100% either.

AW11 are AFM and have a dist, easy to pick.

Early AE92 are multi coil and AFM, and have the big port head
so no external oil drain.

Late AE92 are almost identical to AE101, Both multi coil and Map sensored and both have the small port head, so have the external oil drain.

Only way i know to tell an late map AE92 from an AE101 is by the wiring loom if it is still attached. there are differences in there to pick if you know waht to look for.

Yep second this, there are the late ae92 and ae101 4agzes which are pretty much the same.

If you have the ECU part number then you can tell from that (not 100% as the ecus may have been swaped, however a better guess) and similar to what matt dunn has said the pins outs differ slightly between ae92 and ae101 so can tell from the loom.
