probably, you need to push the bush out from around the outside, on the steel edges - hitting the rubber inner with a mallet is never going to budge it.

your local garage should be able to help you, or ADL in mt roskill are good if you are in that area.

Drill holes around the centre crush tube until you can remove it, then carefully with a hacksaw cut into the metal housing a couple of times, it comes out.
Hugely easier with a press, but if you've not got access to one, that method works well. Not as messy as burning the bush out either.

I drilled mine out, but these were in my rear trailing arms.
Some were so stuffed I just hit the centre with a hammer they fell out.

done similar many times.
Depending how handy you are, could fab up a custom press with a cheap$15 bottlejack also.

rear trailing arm bushes? just whack them out with a ballpein..u dont need a press, the bushes from repco are two piece nolathane with centre bush...takes like 5 mins.

one piece Front lower arm bushes come out easy if you melt the rubber with a gas axe then hit em out with a socket, drift. just keep the heat away from the arm itself. You can press in most fr lower arm bushes with a vice and big socket, they can be quite hard to support in a press.

i just use one of those pullers. if that doesnt work then fab up a suitable puller from a through bolt that goes through a large socket and the bush then on the other end a large washer and a nut. then just wind it up and the bush will pop into the socket

I used a bit of pipe and assorted sized bolts and pieces of metal in a bench vice. but a press would make it a lot more of a pleasant job.
