link g1 vs g3

I'm on the hunt for a link ecu - preferebly a G3 but a link plus g1 has come up for a good price (almost half the price of a g3). it will be running on a 16v 4age turbo, pretty stock standard setup just running lots of boost. doesn't need to be anything special.

I like the options of being able to set temp related rev limits etc etc with the G3 but not sure if this is available on the G1 (can't find specs on the link website). so, what are the major / important things which are included on the G3 that aren't on the g1? is it going to be worth spending an extra $500 just for the g3?

and does someone have a specific figure on what link charge to reconfigure/remap the board of an ecu? i've heard everything from $50 to $200

just get the cheap one. you dont even need the link plus a link lem is fine,

Link Plus G1's are awesome - still run one on my 4agte and even thou I've installed a few G3's in other cars I'm still happy with mine and in no rush to upgrade to the G3

Yep same, still running a Link Plus G1. Runs great.
