how to tell diference between a/t and m/t 20v ecu

Postby xsspeed » Wed Feb 13, 2008 11:39 pm

hey guys just quickly, im selling one of my many ecus. bought it as a loom and ecu packge out of a silvertop levin. problem i dont know for sure whether its a manual or auto.(was told manual but was naive in the way of dodgy trademe sales back then)

anyway it arrived and was stoked, obviously a silvertop loom etc as it matches my other one. but the ecu arrived with no sticker on it. it differs from the other ecus that i have in that it doest have a 'taper' on one of the faces leading to where the plugs go. it also didnt come still attached to the bracket like my others did.

question is, is there any way physically that i can tell whether the ecu is from an auto or manual, same deal with the loom, ive been advertising as m/t but i dont wanna screw sumone round with their project if this guy has been dishonest and given me a auto ecu and loom.

is there a auto g/box plug on the loom that wouldnt be on a m/t loom?

could i open up the ecu and compare internal components?

There will be a gear selector plug on an auto loom, that there wont be on a manual loom.

Also, manual ecu pin-out goes 12-16-26
auto ecu pin-out goes 16-26-22

Hope this helps :)
