About 3 months work i can tell you that much.

AE85 has open diff, 3AU, auto or 5 speed K50. Crap interior and non-vented fron rotors, drum brake rear.

AE86 comes open diff or LSD, 4AGE, auto or 5 Speed T50. less crappier interior, vented rotors in the front and drum (GT-S) or disc rear (GT-Apex)

Also has heaps of little things like intank fuel pump and baffles, some models of 86 came with digital dash.

niether ae85 or ae86 came with IRS(Independent Rear Suspension)

the 86 has a T series diff with open or limited slip diff heads and the 85 has(i think) an s series diff(open only)

Firewall is slightly different due to cable and hydraulic clutch,
apart from that most bits that are different can be swapped between models,

but apart from eng/box/diff/dash and brakes,

bugger all.
