Whats everyone using for turbo oil return lines?

Postby RedMist » Sat Mar 01, 2008 7:39 am

For that matter, what are everyone using for oil feed, oil return, water feed and return lines?
My fabricator suggested using a high temp rubber line between two mild steel pipes. However due to the proximity of the turbos I suspect it will become brittle very quickly.
The answer is Helmholtz!

feed is a little hardline to a banjo at each end, braided flexi in the middle.

return is steel hardline with a approx 100mm of hydrulic hose in the middle of it.

water lines are hardline with some rubber water hose in the middle

i use -3 braided teflon hose for the oil feed.

return is some 19mm id stainless, made into a about a 120deg angle, then with high temp 19mm id hydraulic line between that and the 19mm id steel pipe off the sump.

i dont run water.

on my rx7 ive got stanless braided feed hose, and a steel drain pipe with a stainless braided flexi section.

on the 2jz altezza each turbo has a stainless braided feed hose, and 2 steel drain pipes down to a rubber joiner about 80mm of high temp oil hose onto the factoy Y return to sump

water lines, i usually get 3/8mm fuel hose and use push on fittings banjos etc.

Just high temp/high pressure rubbing hosing for both. Depends what you want to spend, though I'm guessing this is the sort of thing you aren't wanting to go light on

Feed line is braided line with L shape connector.

Drain is a high temp rubber pipe, which is braided internally. it has "LOL" printed on it, blue in colour. still cooks itself tho after a while.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.
