2E dip stick *SORTED*

Postby GDII » Thu Mar 06, 2008 11:07 am

Just picked up my replacement 2E for my corolla last night.

Pulled bits and pieces off it to clean it up and noticed, where the dip stick goes into the block there was a fair amount of oil and and was kinda loose.

What the correct way to seal it up to stop the leak?

Are you talking about the dipstick into the tube, or the tube into the block?

The tube into the block has an O-ring on the bottom and if they've been moved around a bit they tend to crap out with age, especially if you've had the alternator off as the tube bracket and the alternator tensioner bracker are fixed to the engine mount with the same bolt.

If its the dipstick into the tube you may need to swap your dipstick from the previous engine or see if there is an O-ring that can be replaced?

Its the tube. Must be the O-ring then. Will get another one for it.

Thanks.
