Hey Boys and Girls,
I'm just researching the fitment of an air to air intercooler into my 95 Hiace (1KZ-TE 3000cc Turbo Diesel). I've drawn a lot of blanks searching the net, most have either not done this or have not posted pics or any details.
I'm looking for any pictures of Turbo Diesel Hiaces (preferrably 1KZ-TE) showing intercooler mounting/location and intercooler piping and routing.
If anyone had ever looked in the engine bay of one of these they'll soon understand that space is paramount and intercooler plumbing is a definite challenge.
Prior to modifying my own I'll be running various tests (boost levels, airbox/post compressor/inlet manifold temps) to benchmark the system. Then at least I can tell exactly what changes made what improvements - there is nothing worse than someone making unsubstantiated claims on performance mods. My plan is to start with intercooling, then look at the dump pipe (checking back pressure this time) and rest of the exhaust system.
If anyone knows of someone who has modified a Turbo Diesel Hiace I'd appreciate any information at all, but intercooler and piping related pics especially.
Thanks,
Jinx
