Trademe Radiators

Postby thedrunkfish » Mon Mar 17, 2008 6:09 pm

My radiator fins are looking very sparse and think i should really replace my radiator. There seems to be some good deals on trademe from silverdale radiators, around the 249 mark for 17mm core. Has anyone here purchased one of these and can offer any feedback on them. Much appreciated.

I got a radiator from Silverdale for my mums EE90, it was fine. Just remember to budget a can of spray paint, as they are unpainted.

Well then you have a radiator without a custom paint job, paint it bright green yo.

I think it's more to do with corrosion protection.

Thats what i was thinking, which seems rather silly considering it is a radiator ...

Well i managed to find one in excellent condition from a wrecker for $100. But since changing it over i haven't noticed a drop in water temp!! All new red long life coolant and everything. Oh well it runs on exactly middle of the guage so that cant be too bad.

Most car's operating temp is the middle of the gauge.

You didn't throw in a new radiator just cause of that did you?
If you want to run it colder, you'll have to look at you fan switch and thermostat etc

na i changed it cos the fins are all corroded and heaps have fallen out leaving big holes and stuff. I dont really care bout the temp just thought there would be a difference
