3Gen 3S-GE headwork for Celica

Postby ®usty » Wed Mar 19, 2008 8:05 pm

3.gen 3SGE M/T
In: 252deg, 9.8mm lift (timing 7/65)
Ex: 240deg, 8.2mm lift (timing 53/7)

there is my stock cam profile etc

i'm interested in looking at getting some cams, heres my estimation
In. 274deg 9.9mm lift
Ex. 264deg 8.6mm lift
have have been trying to get into contact with these guys
http://www.camshafts.co.nz/Toyota.aspx
and apperently HKS JAPAN make high lift cams (but I can't find a link for the 3S-GE engine)

so apart from cams adjustable cam gears what else would I have to get? new rockes and springs?? should any other work be done before hand?

any help given will help :)

Get your cam grinder to recommend some valve springs.
your old springs will reduce your redline and depending on how old they are reduce HP

is that a Red top VVT engine?

factory lift on a 3rd gen non vvt 3SGE is 8.6mm intake and exhuast. I have measured that myself.

I dont know about getting 272//272 as I want a little smaller on the exhaust side to try to increase cylinder pressure a little to get some midrange torque.

If those aren't my stock profiles for my 3rdGen 3S-GE (yeah non-VVT-i, but if it was VVT-i, I go straight to TRD for VVT-i cams :))
what is my stock profiles?? degrees & lift

I'm not going to turbo it keeping it NA with only a few mods

Where did you go, what did you get and how much ($2,000 all up?)
unclear on your last statments
