temp gauge stop working

My ae92's temperature gauge just stop working. I've checked the fuses, seems all good.
Is it possible that thermostat is totally dead?

What should I do next? Thanks

thermostat only controls the engine temp, not directly related to the running of the guage.

could be the temperature sensor faulty or loose wire, other than that i'm not sure

Yes and No. Providing your car runs as normal you will be fine. But if your waterpump fcuks out or your thermostat stops opening, then you will probably not know until its to late (i.e. motor starts cooking itself).
