Removing the afm plug - 4AGE 20v...

Postby ADIKTD » Wed Apr 02, 2008 12:53 pm

Is there a nack to removing the plug? Just the plug, nothing else...

I bought one of these http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 58.htm?p=6
For my corolla and thought I would give it a go... it only cost me $3.50 cos it was a dollar reserve and I won it at that price! it's a tiny little diode thing that plugs in two of the wires from the afm plug however removing said plug is a mission!

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Josh

You need the flick the little spring wire off first.

But you sir, are feeding the idoits by buying that.

Its a resister... a $0.02 resister that makes your ecu think its a different temp...

Dont do it

In fact, ask a mod to delete this thread, change your username, change your ISP and resign back up to toyspeed, but you are going to get the shit mocked out of you...

Don't do it, just open it up and post pictures of it, also e-mail pictures of the device to Trade Me, saying it is a fraud. I will give you $5 for your hassle.
In fact send it to me, I will give you $5 and I will follow it through.

Whoa, they did not even bother to put it in the box!!!!!
I can't believe, they pass this as a "chip"!!!!
Basically what it is: $5 worth of packaging, and 5c worth of resistor (with heat shrink on top).

As for monsoons, e-mail Mr Revhead, he well have better luck finding them, I struggle to find ST205 monsoons... alternatively AE101s are pick-a-part regulars so try your luck there.

but I want my monsoons :( , do you know how much it sucks to put the window down and have all this water from the roof drip onto my lap?

Anyway I have reported the scam to Commerce Commission and Consumer Affairs, so I hope it will have some effect, since now I am completely sure what the "chip" is...
