Postby shon_4age » Tue Apr 08, 2008 9:53 pm

Hey iv got a 1998 toyota levin with a blacktop 4age. Just wondering how I can fit a tachometer guage, oil pressure and water temperature guage. Like how do I wire it up? what to fix it to? and how easy is it?

well to be honest i was one of those guys that used to think whats the point of fitting tachos on cars that have them from factory but I got gifted one of those guages set that are on sale on trademe the one with a 3 pod and 3 guages already fitted in. So yer just wanna fit it in and although i wont really bother looking at the tiny 2" tacho but since its there i might aswell hook it up..any help would be appreciated because im pretty much an amateur

was a serious offer to buy it ;)

but seriously, might be best to take them and your car to an auto sparky to get it done. Not the easiest things to wire up if you have no experience.

well he has no knowledge of what to do, the 3 guages probably have many wires, none of which are labelled or come with instructions, so yes i'd say thats best bet  worth a shot though I guess......

Behind the headunit there should be a plug the plugs into nothing. there are about 10 wires going to that plug. They are all illumination wires.
That should help with lighting the gauges.

From memory they are pink and green.. ?
