Sharing Vacume lines?

Postby RedMist » Fri Apr 25, 2008 6:00 pm

Just plumbing up the new car and wondered which of the two below I can share a vacume line with (as I'm out of vacume barbs on the plenum)

Boost Gauge
FPR
Two blow off valves
Boost Control Solinoid
MAP

Or should I cut through my shiny plated plenum and create another vacume port?

you can share all exept the MAP as that should be run by itself.

FPR and boost gauge would be my pick.

I would go BOV and Boost Gauge

As FPR is kind of important too.

Usually MAP and FPR on individual lines.

IMO, the pressure for the boost control solenoid should not be plenium feed,

the feed for that should be from before the throttle,

otherwise at part throttle, the turbo can build up way past boost pressure in the intake track, but there is still not enough pressure to open the wastegate as manifold pressure is still low.

i reckon best place for boost controller line is straight off the turbo, so cant over spool the turbo and if u have a ebc with boost readout can tell if u have a leak etc

If you have an electronic boost controller such as a profec you will still need to plumb the unit into the plenum and the solenoid into the compressor cover

NZEFI supplied a MAC valve. Its only a three port valve, atmosphere, wastegate actuator, turbo compressor outlet.
We placed an additional fitting in the first intercooler plumbing tube.

Cheers Gentlemen. Should be on NZEFI's dyno tomorrow.

So i take it you are using the link to control the boost solenoid.

Will be interested in hearing how that goes with the new G3's as I am also looking at changing to that way of doing boost control.
