URGENT getting new springs in

Postby Mike- » Wed Apr 30, 2008 10:32 pm

ok im replacing the springs on my ke70 wagon, (cutties out, ae86 in.)

with the new springs in the struts a bit longer and i cant get it in the same way i got it out (just unbolted the strut, pushed down on the arms and pulled the strut out)

what suspension parts, arms, etc need to be taken out or loosened or watever to sort this out.

Try compressing the springs a bit - maybe jack them up under a bench or something like that - and hold them compressed with some big cable ties. You could also bolt the tops in place then jack the bottom of them as the weight of the car will compress the springs as you jack them. Once you've got everything else connected, cut the ties.
See ya

get someone else to help. get them to push the bottom arms down - with all their weight - while you wedge the struts in there. can be a mission to get modified struts in... as you've found out
