FMIC Piping sizes

Postby bbq1988 » Thu May 29, 2008 7:35 pm

Hey there guys, my brother aquired about 3 meters of 2.5" Stainless pipe today, do you think it will be to big for FMIC pipe work for my factory turbo and boost levels? Lag issues?

Cheers

We recently did 2.5" piping on Gleem's caldina, it's not the factory turbo but its not a heck of a lot bigger either, seems to go alright.

this is a good point.

you might be better off using the pipe to make a couple of nice stainless exhausts, or sell it to fund some aluminium

get no bigger than a 550 intercooler and a small core size if possible trust me it will save you a lot of hassle on a factory bumper, 2.5 will be sweet

thats actually quite an interesting point to make... that even if 3" pipes are an additional 2L when compared to 2.5" pipes, that is only 1 engine cycle before you are in the same position as you would have been...

Although, if 2.5"(or 2", or 1.75" for that matter) is not a restriction, then there is no reason to use anything bigger than you need to.
