AE101 GT-Z brake replacement.

Postby Crampy » Wed Jun 11, 2008 3:22 pm

I'm trying to get some replacement brake rotors for my Levin, but running into problems getting the right size off DNT for DBA ones.

I got some prices for ones that are 245mm and 258mm (according to work mate who's just been to BNT).

I've taken the rotors off and they're around 275mm. I know the brakes are bigger due to it being a supercharged model and being a AE101, but do DBA make a rotor for another Toyota that is the same size as my GT-Z ones? Maybe from a Celica ST184/5 or ST204/5?

Have you priced genuine?
Celica will have different stud pattern and might have different spigot diameter.

Hmm, good point there.
Haven't priced genuine yet. Got to give Racebrakes a call and see what they do. We get a sweet discount with BNT, so I was hoping to get something from them.

I'm going to try the rotors from my mates SIR Civic. He got some slotted Brembo rotors from Speedfactory for a good price, so going to see if they fit on sweet or not.

if DBA are anything like whiteline, they may not make ones for the GT-Z. whiteline only make parts for vehicles they get plenty of in australia, and i dont think the gt-z would have been sold new there, nor would it be a common import there either.

they may be able to match some thing up though

Yeah, I figured that. I was having a look at the catalogue and the Celica ones are about the right size, but as Sergei has said, they're the wrong stud pattern.

Might see if BNT do other brands as well.

*sigh* one word - superstrut.

I think I read somewhere on club 4ag that you can get blank brembo's from the states for a reasonable price.

I was looking at DBA ones too they make some nice slotted ones.

Guy on twincam.org forums is selling modified gt4 discs to suit as its hard to find them in a DBA.

The guy redrills the holes and lathes down the size a little to make it the perfect fit.
