gearbox dipstick

Hey mite sound like a dum question but where can i find the dipstick for the gearbox? I have a 1990 toyota hilux surf 2L petrol. i cant seem to find it under the hood

Assuming its manual? Will be a 24mm bolt on the side of the gearbox about half way up. Pull that out and see if anything comes out. If not then stick you finger in and see if the oil is pretty close to that level. If so, all good.

u fill from that hole, to drain it there should be another 24mm bolt on the bottom

You'll want one of these:

Drain from the 24mm bolt on the bottom, as Mike- says, then fill up using the oil injector in the 24mm bolt on the side.
Do it on a level surface, as you're meant to fill to about a mm below the hole, but you can get away with filling it until a bit pours out of the hole.
