Right, so the last few weeks the 4WS in my dads car has been playing up. Its been displaying the 4WS fault light constantly, and the rear wheels now turn with the fronts even when the car is stationary. They should only be doing this above 45km/h and it results in the car having the turning circle of a bus (have to do a 3 point turn to get round a cul de sac or into a parking space).
I checked the diagnostic plug and its given me a error code of 22.

"Output main motor signal but current is less than 2A and steering control sensor signal is less than normal"
Anyone able to shed some light on what this means in english?
I had a chat to a mate of mine whos an auto sparky and he reckons it sounds like either the steering control sensor is faulty, or the main motor itself has shit itself. Once I find my multimeter Im gonna check the resistance across the sensor to see if it is too low.
Anyone else had this problem before with a Curren/Celica (theyre pretty much identical)? If it is one of these two at fault, I assume somewhere like a toyota wreckers would be a good place to find replacements? Failing that I may have to go to toyota themselves and fork out an arm and a leg for some brand new bits >_< .
Advice? Cheers.
