fan only works on high

ae92 corolla gt

fan will only work on auto and high, no low or medium? what would make this happen

Dead resistor pack. Will be in the heater box somewhere with a few (4ish) wires going into. Cant remember off the top of my head exactly where it is on those

Yea find the resistor pack, it is probably the fuse that is blown on it. It is a thermal fuse and you can just buy a similar rated one and either solder or just twist it on.

I changed mine and bought the resistors from RS components. $1 ish or something.

also check the relay.
hilux and ae101 seem to cause issues

If AE82 is anything to go by it (resistor pack) is behind the fan speed controls.

Should have three or so coils, you will see that two of them will be broken

Normally these are in the flow of air from the blower as its what cools them.

In the supras, they are just after the blower and are easy as to get to. used one from a starlet if i recall correctly.
