Ballast Resistor?

Postby Josh » Thu Nov 06, 2008 10:00 pm

I have recently swapped my points dizzy for an electronic ignition on my 2t, with now having a 12V coil and ignitor, does the ballast resistor still need to be connected or can i do away with it and just connect those 2 wires together.

Yep, get rid of the ballast. It's only used to drop the primary voltage of the coil down, so it doesn't weld the contacts of your points together.

going electronic, you can biff it.
