to deecee
I'm pretty sure that there is/was a beams 3sge in FWD format already, only single vvti, on the intake side.
If meaning putting the normally RWD beams into a fwd format, I've heard that there are issues with oil starvation or something because it is sitting on a different angle than it was originally or something.

to tech128
I've seen one, and heard of a few, traction is an issue, but I don't see how it couldn't be fun.

There are guys slapping turbo kits on Altezzas, and they have higher compression ratio, and more vvti stuff to deal with. If keeping it low boost, something like an emanage should be able to take care of retarding timing, and adding more fuel.

Well we don't know enough info at the mo Barry.
There is the Celica ST202 SS3 with the beams in fwd configuration.

tech128: How about supercharging?

turbo beams

Postby tech128 » Fri Apr 17, 2009 7:17 pm

yeah supercharge would be an option also
but there isnt much room on the 3sge in fwd
and there is heaps of room at the front for turbo like 3sgte

it has the lsd which most ss3 celicas have so it shouldnt have too
much wheelspin

im thinking of using 3sgte injectors
and turbo
and piping
intercooler
afm
sump
dont know about ex manifold

3sgte beams

Postby tech128 » Fri Apr 17, 2009 7:28 pm

it would be mean as
3sgte beams
all the mechanical fitting an modifications are easy as
for me being a x toyota mechanic
but i aint no electrical sparky so i dont want to go to all the trouble
if i cant find a ecu or anything to control my engine
so emanage is an option
im also thinking i could use two headgaskets

I took the 3sgte out of my curren cos i was buying tyres every 2 weeks. Not quite, but traction was the main problem

You can make them run a 1ZZFE powerfc with a few small changes (need to run the 1ZZFE coilpacks and rewire oxy sensor setup, for 1 oxy sensor instead of 2)

Probably the cheapest way to get it up and running.

Can download the Altezza powerfc map as a basemap straight onto it too I guess, but obviously need to tune for different injectors etc.

turbo 3sgte beams

Postby tech128 » Sat Apr 18, 2009 6:01 pm

so the power fc does that just wire into my existing ecu

is there a loom connection plug that plugs in
or do u have to solder it in

the 1zz is vvti so that will still conroll that a
do the 1zz coil packs fit in alright and clips onto the wiring conectors

all this doesnt really matter but easyer if it does more time to do other things

il have a search what the power fc can do
the other thing i understand is the stud and ex ports are diffrent on the head meaning i cant use a 3sgte ex manifold
any ideas
