facto 7age rods

Postby 1e-pwr » Tue Dec 02, 2008 9:44 pm

Hi guys, Im contemplating building an NA 7age to transplant into my KP, and just wondering about whether the factory rods would be worth using... Are they as piss weak as everyone says, or would they be OK with realistic rev limit... Also any comments on what the NA 7age motors go like?...

Should be fine if your not gona ring the ding off it and use 8k constantly.
If it was a race car, then i would be worried as you will be using the gears to try slow you down on the circuit.

I can get a set of H-beam rods for these engines for around $700NZD, custom made.

nick teeboon had a 7AGE in his drifter before he went turbo, admittedly had a bit spent on it but seemed to go pretty well.

bit more torque / bit less rev happy dunno if its worth the hassle personally, for NA at least

Torque is a bottom line for me for this car, since it is a daily and I dont wanna ring the tits off to get from light to light. Thats why Im keen on a 7A, other engine Im considering is a BEAMS 3S, but obviously more money and have to go down road less travelled...
