My Corolla which has map 4agze planted in has recently started to play up. Mods are only pulley and abv mod.
When i turn it on, it would fire but then die straight away.
If i want it to idle properly i have to hold the gas down for like a second or two until it settles itself out, but then after that its all fine.
I turn the car off and on again, and its fine.
It seems to only do this when i leave it off for hours, like overnight or at work.
What could be the problem here? Has only started to do this in the past week.
And another question, what should the supercharger sound like at low revs?
My car has like a 'clacking' sound of metal? its abit hard to explain.
Its like the sound of a computer fan with dust stuck inside. But when I rev the sound goes away and the whine starts...Ive tried to take a sound clip but its a bit hard to register without human ears.

I've had a similar problem with my 1989 Toyota Corona. (3S-F) I had assumed it was carby related and so I had it checked found nothing wrong and left it.
Often wondered but I never got it sorted so I'd be interested too.

just to add to the confusion, my diesel lucida van does this exact same thing as well. to get around it, i have to manually pump the fuel filter (there's a primer on top of the fuel filter) then it starts fine. if i don't, it will go to fire, then die out and just sit there cranking...

I know my corona had a fuel immobiliser. And a uniden alarm. Don't know if anyone else with this problem has an alarm as well. I never did like my alarm.

Leaking injector/s?
No fault codes I take it?
thefallen303, could be time for a new pump (the bit on the top, not the injector pump)? Sounds like it might be getting a bit of air in somewhere and letting the diesel bleed back

Yeah I thought it might be something like leaking injectors (hence I got the carby checked) two places I took it two reckoned the carby was fine.
Being a carby it never had any codes.
