air con removal on 4age

Postby gleem » Tue Jan 20, 2009 8:38 pm

i have taken all air con parts off car but got to the compressor today an say a problem that power steering wont work as there wont be a belt reaching it. Its a ae101gtz. Was thinking about getting another powersteering pulley and somhow welding it ontop so its at the same width as all other pulleys. Has this been done befor or can it be done? or any other options

If its anything like my 20v setup, I took out one of the power steering bolts so it now pivots and made up a bracket so it now has an adjuster going back to the block. :)

4 heavens sake dont start welding stuff doesnt need to be that complicated lol.
air con was removed from my 20v 4age levin,
u remove the powersteering pump and just run a shorter belt around, if unsure on size run a piece of string around and take it into the store so u can give them an indication of size or take a good guess as there isnt listings on the system for these cars without air con as they all come factory with.

You are all wrong, he has removed the compressor off an ae101 gtz. The setup is taotally different from a ae101 20v.

You will have to buy a ps pump and bracket off a 4age 20v. 16v also works but the 20v pump will be newer.

This wont have any adjustment so just use a shorter belt and stretch it on. I think we used a 5pk890 or 880, cant quite remember now.
