springs for st215 caldina - who sells em??

Postby steve74 » Wed Feb 11, 2009 10:42 pm

hey guys, i did a bit of a search and it seems that TRD make lowering springs along with tein and all the usal brands. I want to drop my caldina a little bit so that it looses its standard "hilux" looking gaping wheel arches but not too low that the guards are scraping on the tyres. Im in my 30s and dont want the boy racer "dumped to within an inch of its life" look. I have seen these teins on trademe.

Are they good value and what im after or are there people out there that can supply me with a better option. Im just a bit scared of buying something too low.

cheers, steve

Teins seem to be the go for your car as others on here rate them.

That is a pretty decent price for a set of new springs.

Very happy with my TRD's.
Think they are slightly lower than Teins though, but that is on TRD struts so could be the struts lowering it a bit more not sure how the platform height compares to standard.

the TEINS will lower it more than TRD
TRD = around 30mm from stock TRD struts have same spring seat height as stock
TEINS = 40-43mm from stock

big mistake ppl make with the amount of lowering is failing to take into account how much stock springs will have sagged from new. so when TRD or TEIN quote X amount, thast from when the car was brand new. it is not a guarantee of that amount of lowering 100ks later

Not just TRD or Tein, all spring manufacturers quote that drop from the factory height. People seem to get quite disappointed when you sell them springs for a KP or KE and it only drops them 10-15mm.

never been in one with trd's but i use the 30mm drop teins, running on standard alloys tho. 18's or something would make it look better.

+1 teins
I had vtax :(
