yehp as above. most 90's fwd toyotas (e series and a series engine esspecialy), have a pivot point on the bottom of the alternator which doubbles as the main bracket. then theres a top bracket which is slotted. leaver the alternator away from the block then do up the bolt at correct belt tension. should be no more than 10-13mm of flex in the belt when you push it with your thumb.
edit: if you cant to it up to tension with your hands go to the gym more often. alternitivly get a crow bar or leaver bar in there, but be crairfull not to leaver off anything that will bend/snap or brake easily.

nothing sounds like a 2stroke engine on the rev limiter
