3sgte, what gen did they locate the oil filter near the sump

need some help
i have a friend wanting a 3sgte engine with the oil filter located near the sump
im trying to source one here in japan, and i dont know what year and engine generation they did this can you help me


toyota relocated the oil filter from the exhaust manifold area to the location near the sump
what engine generation & year 3SGTE, did they do this?

any help you can give me would be much appreciated

Yes, as above.
Gen 3 and later has filter mounted on the alloy part of the 2 piece sump.
