how far can you build a 4age with stock ecu

how far performance wise can i go before i have to up upgrade ecu

4age smallport in ae92

or whats my best bet on building the engine

would the ecu run head skim port/polish and adj cam gears and prob fuel reg or injectors?

the best option is an aftermarket ecu

but yes it should run all that stuff, depending on specs.

but i dont think youd need bigger injectors on a n/a 4age

youd need cams to take real advantage of any other head work

mint, yea if i could find some at the time id get them

but then its all over for the stock ecu idea correct?

want to get it going on a budget with out cutting corners and regreting later on, so i can finish geting power later on

ECU man, i had 100 WHP out of a blue top with extractors filter and a link G1 V5 and avgas 8) went bloody goot for a wee motor

get some ARP headstuds so you can remove the head more freely and get it running as relatively stock. then you can add cams / headwork as desired / money allows

i like this idea, apart from a brand, whats diff about the arp headstuds, and do you get a metal headgasket?

headstuds are like the shaft section of a bolt, but they stick up out of the block and you lower the head down onto them, then add a nut to torque the head down.

the idea is they are re-usable multiple times, whereas your standard headbolt should only be used once (though many people re-use them) so they work out cheaper if you intend to take the head off multiple times to fiddle with things.

you could use whatever headgasket you liked, but i couldnt comment on their re-usability as i've never tried it myself :D

haha cool, i know what the headstuds are lol just not wat the arp ones had advantage of,

yeap fair point tho spose a headgasket aint worth much, not worth the risk
