HELP! my 4age20v sounds bridgeported

my 20v has been playing up its a silvertop with a blacktop 6 speed comp and loom i have a o2 sensor in it now it is maped also as i am running trumpets have got new leads checked the dizzy but just dont now what the problem is it seem to still be running really rich. i have put a vacuum gauge on it and it has said timing is out or there is a vacuum leak please can some one help me. oh and before i 4 get all the emission crap has been pulled off but still running the ics thingy.

Mine sounds like a bridgeport when the VVT is on at idle, maybe look into that.

Mine sounds like that, or sort of like a subaru when the oil is on real low.

Which is all the time in my car, engine is been overheated at some stage and is now $&#$%, also cam seals are $&#$%. so i lose alot of oil, quickly. grr :(

Unplug the VVT solenoid and see if it fixes it, or pull the VVT solenoid out and clean it out with some carb cleaner. When they are on at idle they are lump hard.

mean overlap causes the ole bridgey idle. Much like a lumpy cammed 4K with the choke on....... haha

Dont let the secret get out of all the bogun 20V owners will be setting them up to idle that way

how do i make my 20v vvt solenoid operate at idle??

My guess is if it's running really rich it'd have something to do with vacuum to the map sensor. Check the hose to the sensor and any other related piping, or borrow one to test so you can eliminate that as your trouble
