EE90 with a 2E motor, what fits

Postby Horny_Devil » Sun Apr 05, 2009 3:33 pm

I have a EE90 that has a 2E motor (1300cc carbie) in it, the motor has a blown headgasket, and a possible stuffed water pump.

What other motors will fit in with out having to do to much work? is there anything that is a strait plug and play swap? something with a little more power? maybe a 1500/1600cc carbie motor?

This car is my daily so its nothing flash

will probably be hard pressed to find a larger e series motor thats carb'd these days. From memory 3e's came out carb'd but no idea what model they were in sorry.

Could put in a 1e from a starlet ep70 though, lol

All e series motors will bolt in, just most are efi besides 2e and 1e. Depends how much of a project you want to make it

haha dont want it to be any sort of a project, just want something to get it back on the road again, as i think the current motor may be a little rooted

2E is about all you can put in without needing a cert. And carby 2E are the most common engines from the E series stuff anyway

biggest engine that will bolt in is the 3e-c
they came in tercels and corolla 2's but you will be hard pressed to find one and they have problems with killing valve stem seals.
think from memory they are only 13hp more

2e-c's are dime a dozen at pick a part. that would be your best bet
daily: ep71 turbo s 2et 90hp atw 15.5sec 0-400m (stock) current 5efhte + ct9b on 6psi, 13.7@158km , torque steer??
nothing sounds like a 2stroke engine on the rev limiter
