That sounds roughly right, they compress down a bit when fully torqued. Why use a Permaseal one though when a TRD one is around the same price?

Why do you want to put one on...
You are going to raise the compression, therefore need a retune, therefore need a programmable ECU.

Lee...i thought I told you before man.

the thicker the gasket, the lower the compression.
the thinner the gasket, the higher the compression.

And if you want to go turbo, go for the thicker one
If you want to go NA, go for the thinner one

And did you get a hold of 1I1 our Toyota Sponsor? I am sure they can do it cheap!

refer to our sponsors section for the contact people for prices. As for just fitting the head gasket, i noticed a big improvement with my engine running the trd 0.8mm gasket, my 16v 4age engine went well before i pulled it apart to freshen it up, went even better after fitting the trd gasket., You'll need to run minimum 95 octane fuel, probably better to use 98 to gain full benefit from it. You'll also need to change your ignition timing to suit as even if 3 degrees the wrong way (advanced or retarded) it may pink. Those are the symptoms of my engine and, it may have had a bit taken off the head previous to me owning it, i can't be 100% sure
