AE92 FXGT - How do you remove rear sway bar?

Postby B1NZ » Sun May 24, 2009 11:05 am

Hi, Have a new Whiteline adjustable rear sway bar to fit to the corolla, but I cant seem to get the factory one out, it seems to be running over the petrol tank filler and breather lines? can move it but wont come out at either end as far as I can see?

What is the best way to remove it? I have taken all mounts out that usually hold it in place, do I need to take the wheel off and disconnect the strut from the hub etc to get it out?

I had a $hit of a time with my one. I got the factory one out no problem, with it jacked up and I thik the wheel off and pulled the strut out on one side.
Getting my whiteline one in was tricky, as it didn't flex as much as the stock one. I had the car on axle stands for that, both wheels off and both struts unbolted.

I found it easiest to remove and refitting it from the left hand side of the car.
