superstrut fitment question

Postby flygt4 » Tue Aug 18, 2009 10:11 am

I may be buying some form of corolla in the near future. i'm definately going to be avoiding superstrut models as my price range generally includes older models.
I am aware you can identify from the wheel size and brake size whether it is or not, but just for reference, was superstrut suspensions ever fitted to automatic ae101's?

LOL didnt take long to pick that up. yes i have heard that automatic 4ages are piss weak to drive

but i do also require a reliable car that is cheap to run in the near future, preferably i would get a 4afe but it depends what i find for the right price, and i'm not too fussed whether it has a dirty auto fitted.
I am going to have to sell the caldina and split the proceeds due that wonderful thing called division of relationship property :x

for a run about, thats prob going to be auto then I would strongly recommend a 4afe, the 4age is sooooo not suited to an auto its not funny, don't do it, you will regret it!
infact for a daily driver in welly there would be no disadvantage to a 4afe manual, the extra low down torque makes for better driving.
 torque.
i would recommend a 101 wagon (dogs etc) but ppl want millions for those and they all done several trips to the moon and back

but to answer your original question, i can't remember :P

yeah a wagon would be ideal, but if i find something at a good price i won't disregard it because of the transmission etc. a workmate has a 4afe manual that has done 380km on the original engine and its goes really strong

problem is a lot of 4afe equipped cars have corolla in the name, and then more people can actually find them on trademe etc.

cars like sprinter, levin, trueno, ceres, marino etc dont usually get advertised as corollas so a lot of the people that go looking for a corolla by name will miss them

stupid thing, is the buyer determines the price. if people keep paying too much for them, it won't change.
