Info on UHF 40 Channel CB Radios

Postby MrOizo » Sat Aug 22, 2009 3:07 pm

I am looking at getting another 40CH CB radio for work and am a little confused as to which one to get.

We normally use the 40 channel UHF handhelds with the hardwired kits and i am looking at getting something to replace the need for batteries - hard wired ones are much better.

I have already a Uniden SX015 (or something like that) with built in scanner - thats a little over the top again so looking at something more basic but with good range.

What ones would people reccommend?

i seen a few ones like:

Uniden Mobile AM CB Radio PRO530XL http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/4a8f50eb0 ... View/D1836

GME TX2700 26MHz CB Radio http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/4a8f50eb0 ... View/D1954

(i think these are more CB and not the PRS ones now are they?)

are you talking about "cb" eg 27 mhz or "PRS" which is 36mhz from memory...

your sx 015 is "prs" whereas the two down the bottom you mention are "cb"

if your 015 work's you'll need to get one of the ones from this page
http://www.uniden.co.nz/NEW_ZEALAND/p_index_transceivers_mobile_radios.asp

if its the other type your after you'll want one like the two you've already mentioned
